WHO WE ARE

“What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal.”  -Albert Pine

Hope For Homes was created in 2009 by Gissette Cruz, Richard Dejesus, and Manuel Cruz. The idea came from witnessing the daily struggles impoverished families face to provide food for themselves and their children. Gissette wanted these families to be able to enjoy the holidays without having to worry about how much money they needed or had in order to provide a Christmas dinner and thus, Hope For Homes was created.

Each year during the holiday season we provide 40 families with a gift basket containing the following:

  • 8 lbs of Rice
  • 6 lbs of Beans
  • 3 lbs of Meat
  • 1 Gallon of Oil
  • 1 lb of Coffee
  • 2 lbs of Sugar
  • 1 lb of Spaghettis
  • 1 lb of Onions
  • Tomato Paste
  • Salt
  • Liquid seasoning
  • Powder Seasoning
  • Salami
  • 2 Litter Pepsi
  • Bottle of wine
  • Bottle of Eggnog
  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrushes
  • Deodorant
  • Bath soap
  • Dishwashing soap

All the above items are purchased at local stores in rural areas in order to put money back into the community.
